NEWS RELEASE

Date: February 2,1998

Millstream wishes to clarify, in response to numerous inquiries and the vast amount of core to analyze, the status of its 2nd deep drill hole S97-09 drilled on its Timmins/ Matheson Potter Property.

The preparation and analysis of core samples has been time consuming due to the substantial lengths involved. As of Jan. 31 1998, in addition to the interval for which assay results were reported on Jan. 22,1998 (604.6m (1983.7 ft.) to 627.5m (2058.8 ft.)), further mineralized core intervals from hole #2 have been sent to be assayed as follows:

Interval 496.3m (1628.4 ft.) to 520.6m (1708.1 ft.) – 79.7 ft.

** Interval 667.1m (2188.8 ft.) to 711.0m (2332.8 ft.) – 144.0 ft.

Five boxes of core from the first interval remain to be aligned, sawed and logged in preparation for shipment to the assay lab:

Interval 328.78m (1078.7 ft.) to 416.1m (1365.2 ft.) – 286.5 ft.

** Scrutiny of this interval (667.1m to 711.0m) has identified two distinct sections carrying massive sulphides.

Millstream’s 3rd deep drill hole S97-10 (16.75 W, 605 S, Az 350 deg), located 200+ ft. west of hole #2, has encountered mineralized Cu-Zn sulphide zones, carrying massive sulphides. Upon completion of the analysis and correlation of the geological information in respect to holes #1 and #2, the core from #3 will be cut, logged and assayed; the results will be released when available.

The principle objective of Millstream Mines Ltd. is to enhance and develop known mineral properties to production potential. Millstream holds mineral claims or interests, directly or through wholly owned subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, USA and Canada.
